This is about a 10 year old foam roof that was installed over the top of 3 other roofs. When this roof was tore off we found a cockroach infestation. Standing water between layers. And a host of other problems. Had the homeowner obtained a roof inspection prior to the foam roof installation this would have forced the roofing company to tear of all pre-existing roof layers prior to the foam roof installation. In most cases you are only allowed to have one\u00a0\u00a0previous layer. This is determined by various factors to include, but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0<\/strong>That the roof structure is sufficient to sustain the weight<\/p>\n<p>of the additional dead load of the roof covering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0<\/strong>Fire retardant requirements are maintained.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0<\/strong>The existing roof covering is securely attached to the<\/p>\n<p>deck.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.\u00a0<\/strong>The roof is structurally sound.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.\u00a0<\/strong>The existing insulation (if installed) is not water soaked<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0<\/strong>Roof drains and drainage are sufficient to prevent<\/p>\n<p>extensive accumulation of water.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_165\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_66\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/failedfoam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-66\" title=\"failed foam\" src=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/failedfoam.jpg\" alt=\"A failed 10 year old foam roof\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/failedfoam.jpg 540w, https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/failedfoam-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-66\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A failed 10 year old foam roof<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this picture it shows the roof layers being tore off and the discovery of water.
