This kind of thing\u00a0 does happen from time to time but the real problem here is the fact that it was left like this. Normally you would take your grinder and grind it flat and then apply your coating, apparently this roofing contractor was to lazy to do it right. Kind of makes you wonder what else they didn\u2019t do. Well take a look at the pictures below.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/foamed_cables1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-80\" title=\"foamed_cables\" src=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/foamed_cables1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/foamed_cables1.png 540w, https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/foamed_cables1-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sloppy workmanship<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_326\"><\/div>\n<p>This picture shows all around bad foam detail. First off they foamed in the A\/C\u00a0condensate line and the A\/C electrical conduit. So if for some reason you needed to replace the electrical\u00a0 or condensate line in addition to hiring an A\/C contractor you will also need to hire a roofer.\u00a0The foam detail is all around bad.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_81\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-81\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cracked_pipe.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-81\" title=\"cracked_pipe\" src=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cracked_pipe.png\" alt=\"Not enough foam around the base of the pipe\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cracked_pipe.png 540w, https:\/\/arizonaroofer.net\/wpaz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cracked_pipe-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-81\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cracked Pipe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_328\"><\/div>\n<p>This is really a all to common mistake.\u00a09 out of 10 foam roof leaks are due to a failed penetration or some other component and not the foam it\u2019s self. If they would have put the foam they sprayed up the sides of the pipe around the base of the pipe this wouldn\u2019t have happened. As you can see someone tried to fix this by brushing some elastomeric coating around the pipe and as you can see it didn\u2019t work. The proper way to fix this would be to re-foam the pipe. If you didn\u2019t have the money to hire a roofer to do it you could apply a thik bead of urethane caulking around it. It will be a semi permanent fix. By the way this type of failure is due to settlement and the lack of foam around the pipe.<\/p>\n<p>In a nutshell this property owner paid some one to give them a new roof and then paid someone else to fix their mistakes. And\u00a0believe me it\u2019s not cheap, had they hired a roof consultant from the very beginning the job would have been done right the first time and would have cost them a lot less than it\u2019s costing them now. Remember that cracked pipe how much damage did it cause inside the structure? How many pipes were failed \u00a0like that\u2026. About 9. So remember when you\u00a0decide to have roofing work done it might be a good idea to at least call a roofing consultant \u00a0to see what his fees are you might just be surprised.
